Kilter Joins WEMC Judging Panel

6 January 2015 | 3:04 pm | Isabella T

The World Electronic Music Contest is coming to Australia to source our biggest electronic talents! Joining the pool of judges is Sydney's Kilter.

Sick of playing shows in your bedroom to a party of no one? Wishing that some of electronic music's biggest insiders could offer up their advice and mentorship?

Well, those dreams could be fully realised through the World Electronic Music Contest, which is heading to Australian shores this January! Joining the already staggering number of great industry bigwigs on the judging panel is Sydney own KILTER, whose career is definitely one any aspiring producer would want to emulate.

Kilter is on the upwards trajectory as of late, coming off the back of touring Australia's biggest festivals such as Falls Festival and Field Day. With his SoundCloud tracks reaching hundreds and thousands of listens, there is no doubt that this young talent is set to become huge. But once upon a time Kilter was just simply the unknown Ned East, spending hours alone searching through youtube for sounds to sample - just like any any young hotshot wanting to make it in the electronic sphere. So with that in mind, he's generously offering up his expertise to nurture the young stars of tomorrow and find the next best thing!

The lucky winner will be given the opportunity to play shows in Pacha Sydney, Chinese Laundry and abroad in Asia along with studio time at Studios 301 and an international release through EDM label legends Ministry of Sound. As if that wasn't enough, the generous WEMC will also be gifting a 5 grand Native Instruments Studio Kit. Can it get any better than that?

To enter, simply hop onto the website and upload an original track alongside a 30 second video thats sums up who you are and what your story is. It can be within any genre of the electronic spectrum, so be bold, brave and show off your talents!

Whilst the competition doesn't start until January the 20th, you can take the lead and pre-register on the site now.  The top fifteen finalist will then have the opportunity to create a 20 minute mixtape that will be mulled over by Kilter and industry experts including SCNDL, Aden Mullens, Dylan Sanders, Ben Feggans
