Live Review: Chela 'Handful of Gold' (Official Video)
Australian expat Chela drops new video clip for successful electro pop song 'Handful of Gold'. She is also one of the first to be signed to IHC 1FINITY.
CHELA is fast becoming one of the most exciting names in the alt/electro pop scene lately. After she burst onto the scene with her collaboration with CLUBFEET she has truly come into her own with hits Romanticise and Zero. Her latest single Handful of Gold is no exception to the quality of her music, and now has the perfect video to go along with it!
Having relocated from Australia to LA, CHELA's latest clip is quintessential of her new surroundings - typical American latenight diner where the owner let's you do whatever you want. The clip sees her and her friends relishing in their youth, dancing on tables and generally having a lot of fun. CHELA's seriously good dance moves are on display here as well, as she pops and locks her way around the place.

It's as fun and vibrant as the singer herself, and captures the upbeat vibe of the track perfectly. There are other scenes of a different story with CHELA in a silk robe in bed looking terrified, yet these are interjected with scenes of her partying with her friends. The clip ends abruptly with the song, as CHELA either falls or is pushed over, re-enacting what she sings about in the chorus - in the middle of the night, in the house of her dreams, she's on the floor with a handful of gold. It's kind of creepy in a way, and a little scary but her cheeky shrug and smirk in the last shot leaves you scratching your head. What the hell just happened?
Handful Of Gold has also undergone a few remixes which will be released at the end of January in 2015, as part of label IHEARTCOMIX new digital imprint IHC 1FINITY. CHELA is one of the first to be released on this new label, along with ANTWON and PICTUREPLANE. She played 8 shows at SXSW, as well as a COACHELLA performance over both weekends. She also toured as the vocalist for GOLDROOM, which saw them play sold out shows across North America! She was named as one of SPOTIFY's names to watch for 2015, and if this track is anything to go by, that is definitely true!
