Live Review: Premiere: Montgomery 'War Cry' (JAWZ Remix)

Represented by a label who consistently push the exciting names of talented beings to the point of well-established inventory, I Oh You's latest signing MONTGOMERY aids the versatility of the esteemed brand with her ethereal soundscapes and breathy sentiments.

Previously releasing her single, 'War Cry', Sydney man JAWZ has taken the matter into his own hands with his glistening remix.

Glazing the original with an additional selection of rich, succulent samples, this revamped array of sweetened soundscapes has entirely changed the atmosphere of 'War Cry'. Tantalising us with an enterprise of sonic stars twinkling and dancing over the fuller backdrop, their play is lovingly supervised by an elder keyline, as well as the guardianship of some heavier beats, synths and other percussive elements.

Embracing just as much involvement of Montgomery's original vocals, her lyricism is lifted into a whole new light, thanks to the capacity of playful delicacies that flutter through the wall of sound supporting her.

'War Cry' is the first single taken from Montgomery's debut EP, New Clear War, available now PHYSICALLY and DIGITALLY via I Oh You.
