Ex Hot Chip & LCD Soundsystem incarnation 'New Build' have created a very versatile Soundcloud Wrap for us.

We haven't heard from HOT CHIP in a while and you've probably all been wondering what the group has been up to recently. Turns out pretty much all of them have continued to create music themselves with a series of new side-projects, one of which is the spectacular NEW BUILD

Al Doyle and Felix Martin have been creating some wonderful music with Tom Hopkins and we have loved everything they've released so far. We decided to see what music has been influencing the band of late and so begins NEW BUILD's SoundCloud Wrap.

"Choosing one of our own as a starter to "get it out of the way".  This opens our own album too and still settles my nerves somehow."

RON TRENT 'Deep Down' ft. Robert Owens (DJ Dub)

"Sets up a construction-grade, granite-like groove and sticks the hell with it.  Extended version of this is over 10 minutes, and you really get to know each other over that amount of time."

HOLDEN 'The Illuminations'

"Sounds like nothing much else; all unsettled, nervous energy and sparkling constellations of arpeggios."

EQUIKNOXX X KING TUBBY X MASICKA '4G'

"This whole album is incredibly addictive, but this is probably the best track. Modern dancehall vocal over classic Tubby rhythms, flows at the speed of thought."

KRIS WADSWORTH 'Fingerprint'

"Wadsworth has a new album out that isn't streamable in full tracks, but this punishing set of older tracks give you an idea of what he's about.  He's about to take your head off."

TENORES DI OROSEI 'Tedeum'

"Sardinian unaccompanied traditional singers, doing otherworldly things with their voices.  Chord changes that they execute here seem to give you a glimpse of the divine."

MUSEUM OF LOVE 'Down South'

"First of two selections from my ex-LCD bandmates.  This is Pat's new project that he's set up with Dennis McNany, and I'm absolutely in love with it."

NANCY WHANG & AUDIOJACK 'Like An Eagle'

"And here's Nancy giving the stone-cold treatment to a Dennis Parker classic, with help from Audiojack."

GUNNAR HASLAM 'Ataxia No Logos'

"Gunnar Haslam has been consistently moving things forward with his recent releases.  A roughneck study in momentum and atmosphere"

SAM LANGHORN 'Keep Your Hands On the Plow'

"A selection from the ever-reliable Fat Possum label; recently unearthed non-commercial recordings from a unknown Mississippi musician, transporting you instantly into the drowned humidity of southern nights."
