Live Review: Zhu 'Paradise Awaits' (RUFUS Remix)
Rufus have remixed Zhu's track 'Paradise Awaits' and infused their sultry synths into the mix.
Now that the Sydney trio have remixed the track, 'Paradise Awaits' has the smooth sensuality that has become the signature RUFUS sound. The original mix that ZHU crafted is still fantastic, but with these new elements, the piece feels rejuvenated and refreshed.
ZHU has just recently wrapped up his first festival tour in Australia with Listen Out, and his version of 'Paradise Awaits' is very intriguing. With some pop influences, the track has an upbeat vocal that bounces alongside a melody that features a lot of samples popping throughout it's duration.
The vocals are distorted in different sections, layering themselves and making things sound slightly experimental. 'Paradise Awaits' is one of the American producer's most interesting offerings, but now that RUFUS has taken hold of it, there's a fusion of sounds that you won't end up hearing again for a very long time.

In RUFUS' remix things are taken down a notch and the pops in the original melody have become more subtle making it run smoothly. The vocals have been kept very much the same and act as a build up to the deep house drop that becomes infectious the more you listen to it. If you heard this song in the club you'll find yourself on the dance floor before you even realised what you were doing. Vibrant synths dance a top the melody making things feel warm as the deeper house melody makes everything feel much cooler. Basically we have a perfect summer remix on our hands here people.
RUFUS are currently touring the United States and will be back in Australia to venture down the rabbit hole at Wonderland Festival later on this year.
