Live Review: Paces 'On My Mind' ft. Youth

Guess who's just joined the etcetc family and added some necessary tropical future beats, just in time for summer? During our recent interview with PACES at the first instalment of Stranded, the producer mentioned that we would be hearing new material in October and we're stoked to report, it's here!

PACES' latest track is called 'On My Mind' and features the powerful vocals of YOUTH. The single is first taste of PACES' forthcoming EP which includes a lot more healthy YOUTH-ful injections. The release won't be out for a while but since we have it's first track in our hot little hands, we will definitely be occupied until then.

'On My Mind' is lead by it's vocal track from the get go. The melody is extremely simple with drop samples and soft synths carefully placing themselves in short spots until YOUTH's vocals explode and the synths follow suit. Synths burst into a twinkling mass as the vocal soars higher than you've heard before.

You can definitely hear PACES' signature tropical influence in the track, however it is extremely subtle, giving way to a more elevated vocal and simple melody that gel perfectly. Finding a nice balance between a vocal and a melody can be hard but 'On My Mind' seems to have found a vocalist and a melody that compliment each other so well that everything sounds like it automatically fell into place.

PACES upcoming EP will be released through etcetc on November 14, but you'll be able to grab 'On My Mind' as a single from October 24.
