Live Review: Laurel 'Shells' (Durante Remix)
Los Angeles producer/DJ Durante adds his own spin to Laurel's 'Shells'.
After a string of recent releases, including hit 'Blue Blood', the Laura Marling-inspired singer/song-writer/producer LAUREL has clearly proven she is not short on talent.
With her sultry vocals and calming bass-lines, there is something just so right about the London-based artist, so-much-so to even be compared to the likes of LANA DEL REY.
After the release of one of her more recent tracks 'Shells' earlier this year, a number of different remix's of the song have popped up online. However, LA-based producer/DJ DURANTE's mix of the song is the one we have been waiting for. Just coming off the back of the release of his original mix 'Slow Burn' featuring CHUCK ELLIS, DURANTE has created a remix of LAUREL's 'Shells' that keeps the calming nature of the original track, but has given it an upbeat, house edge that you cannot help but groove along to.

The 21-year old, who dropped everything to move to LA and work for record label OWSLA, is certainly not afraid to take risks, and has been known to incorporate a number of different genres into the one. I can safely say that this remix of 'Shells' is certainly one risk that has paid off.
Be prepared to get lost in the music.
