Disco-funk for the soul. Sydney boys Oliver Dela Cruz and Darren Morilla come to the party with groovy bass lines and cow bell in hand.

After the fantastic single last year ‘I want, I need,’ Its no surprise to see Midnight Pool Party continue on their run of hot form, bringing us an undeniably good time on their latest ‘If You Were Mine’ (Baby).

Those thirsty voices tell a familiar tale, the longing of wanting someone you cannot have. But here that burning need is something to relish, even a cause for celebration given the upbeat quality of the production on hand. Sweeping sound effects, hand claps, piano grooves and disco synths render this tune dance floor friendly. The voices on ‘If You Were Mine’ are happy to dream, content in the knowledge that they remain alone, together.
