Live Review: Tycho 'Spectre' (Bibio Remix)

19 August 2014 | 6:07 pm | Lauren Payne

Tycho has had one of his atmospheric tracks remixed by a producer whose influenced by "brewing thunderstorms"

TYCHO has had a pretty big week already. He's been announced as one of the first acts at this year's Falls Festival and because nothing could really top that, he's shared something equally as exciting; a brand new remix of his track 'Spectre' from BIBIO.

The original mix for 'Spectre' infuses organic atmospherics and and synths that possess a percussive tone that instantly etches itself into your mind. The remix does a similar thing with synths and also utilises atmospherics however, the man behind it all has his own flavour to add into the mix.

For a producer that says he's influenced by "brewing thunderstorms", BIBIO sure has a very delicate way about creating his music. His remix of 'Spectre' is both delicate and sharp by cutting through the melody with clear samples that warp themselves into a smooth contortion. The remix feels like coloured smoke floating through the air and has the same texture as a clear river of water. This imagery is a signature element of BIBIO's work and it has make TYCHO's 'Spectre' even more enthralling than before.

TYCHO will be on tour for a very long while before Falls Festival so new material may not emerge for a while however, with this new remix, we'll all surely be occupied for the coming months.
