Live Review: Sable 'Mt Moon'

11 August 2014 | 1:36 pm | Lauren Payne

Sable has released a new track that sounds like your Pokedex on steroids.

Performing at Circo Festival, releasing a debut EP, slaying a set at Splendour In the Grass and collaborating with one of Britain's best producers/singers. This is the life of SABLE and yes, it is flipping amazing.

The Perth-based producer has only just emerged onto Australia's electronic scene over the past year and has already done so much. Now with his new track 'Mt Moon' being available to stream on SoundCloud, we're reminded of the man's stellar production skills that got our attention on his first single 'Feels So Good'.

From the Pokemon-inspired cover art,  you're only given a small hint into what the track is going to sound like but you realise very early on that 'Mt Moon' sounds like your Pokedex on steroids. It's got the lighter samples of your favourite video game paired with the harder punches from your favourite house drops.

It seems SABLE has found a way to blend together two of everyone's favourite things and presented them in a track that has such an infectious melody that it will linger for a very long time. Most people can identify a banger track when they hear one and as soon as everyone hears 'Mt Moon', they'll know that they have found a banger track with bite.
