Live Review: New Navy 'Rosaline'

26 August 2014 | 12:00 am | Lauren Payne

New Navy have released 'Rosaline', the first single off their debut LP

So NEW NAVY have been off the radar for a while, mainly because they've been working on a debut LP and as it happens, we've stumbled across the LP's first single.

The track is called 'Rosaline' and if you're familiar with NEW NAVY's work, you'll notice that 'Rosaline' is basically everything we usually expect from the band, which is pure bliss in music form, and more.

The Sydney three-piece have been killing it in 2014 with their single 'Heaven' marking an incredible return for the band after a few months of recording. The single, although extremely popular, isn't to be included on the band's debut LP which doesn't yet have a release date. NEW NAVY are also about to embark on a tour across the country with ANDY BULL and what better way to kick that off than with a new track?

NEW NAVY have always been a very chilled out band and 'Rosaline' carries on that tradition with its organic percussion, soft vocals and swift guitar riffs. It's a wonderful piece that perfectly introduces the band's new tour and  LP which, even though we've only heard the first track, will no doubt sound phenomenal. An extremely infectious melody oozes out of 'Rosaline' as the bridge delves into a deep instrumental section that entangles you in it's sound; the guitars, synths and drums and summer vibes, nothing could be better.

You can catch NEW NAVY out supporting ANDY BULL over the next few months as well as performing a few headline shows along the way. As for the LP, well we're just going to have to be patient on that one but we're all thankful that we have at least one new NEW NAVY track to carry us over into warmer weather.
