Live Review: Astronauts, etc. 'Gravity'

24 August 2014 | 12:00 am | Lauren Payne

Astronauts, etc. have released a track called 'Gravity' and it's magical must be heard to be believed.

ASTRONAUTS, ETC. have just released a brand new single called 'Gravity' and it's a pretty fitting name for a track from this man.

ASTRONAUTS, ETC is the brain-child of Anthony Ferraro, of whom has a very interesting catalogue of electronic pop that thrives on sweet melodies and high vocals. Being classically trained, Ferraro uses his previous studies as an important element during the writing process and makes sure that his 15 years of learning doesn't go to waste.

'Gravity' is a brilliant track to listen to as your beginning to learn about ASTRONAUTS, ETC. There is a unique voice there that uses the vocals to tell incredibly emotive stories that have a deep conflict hidden beneath it. 'Gravity' has some very hard lyrics that will do one of two things; either pull at your heart-strings, or make you sit back and debate a few recent moments in your life that may have been insignificant before. 'Gravity' is an honest track and with lyrics like "I've got a lot to learn," chiming through the chorus, you cans hear the inner struggle that lies within the track.

The melody however is a beautiful composition. Ferraro's piano track is the first to be highlighted as it introduces the track and soon it is joined by a steady drum beat and a series of synths. The synths are high-pitched and sound almost magical. This kind of suits 'Gravity' as both the song title and even the acts name, ASTRONAUTS, ETC., make us think of space and all of the magical wonders hidden there.

'Gravity' is the second single from ASTRONAUTS, ETC.'s Sadie EP. Sadie will be released as a vinyl through Hit City U.S.A on September 9 for those who feel wax would work best.
