Live Review: Iceage 'The Lord's Favorite' (Official Video)

31 July 2014 | 2:47 pm | Darren Ng

Copenhagen's youngest punk rockers Iceage releases intense genre-shaking video for 'The Lord's Favorite' with indie and country vibes.

In recent years Denmark has produced a slew of hard hitting bands, with the likes of Mew,  and Efterklang leading the pack. ICEAGE, a punk rock band from the capitol city, Copenhagen, have since slipped into that category with their latest music video release, "The Lord's Favorite".

With bands jumping from one genre to another in-between albums, Iceage has ditched the punk rock ways and taken on a country/rockabilly-styled vibe, taking in bits of Nick Cave and Johnny Cash's down-and-out style, with an emotional plea and their usual coming-of-age lyrics.

The video filled with a lot of close ups and finger pointing from Iceage main man Elias Bender and outtakes of youths just being youths barely adds depth to the song but an exceptional point of mention to the way Elias says the word 'desire' in the most sensuous and maybe slightly offensive to some in 2:19.

This is as one Youtube user calls it, "the Danish Way of F*ck You" and we really can't agree more.
