Live Review: Jad & The Ladyboy ‘Left Hand Side' (Dub Version) ft. Floria

23 July 2014 | 12:30 pm | Caitlin Medcalf

Brisbane's Jad & The Ladyboy's latest offering titled ‘Left Hand Side’ offers a crisp soundscape with some heavily warped synths.

If you haven’t noticed by now, the Sweat It Out family is absolutely chockers with some of the best in Australian dance music, and somehow, it just continues to get better and better.

JAD & THE LADYBOY is the moniker of the Sunshine Coast’s Jad Lee. He’s also involved in the garage disco collective MITZI. Almost trance-like in the way it’s so easy to become lost in his sounds, JAD & THE LADYBOY’s approach to dance music seems effortless.

His latest offering titled ‘Left Hand Side (Dub Version)’ extravagantly offers a crisp soundscape with some heavily warped synths. Paired with a stunning set of percussive beats, the disco-esque influence from his work in MITZI runs prominent in the forefront of the track.

The track is strung along by the contrast of the sharp percussion with the sweeping atmospheric sounds brooding in the background. Eerie and dreamy, ‘Left Hand Side’ is a wonderland of mysteries and sounds.
