Live Review: Chet Faker '1998' (NTEIBINT Remix)

7 July 2014 | 8:05 pm | Lauren Payne

Greek producer NTEIBINT has rewoked Chet Faker's track '1998' into a smooth piece not dissimilar to it's original.

The world has basically fallen in love with the smooth voice of CHET FAKER and once his debut album Built On Glass was released, everyone had the chance to have that voice constantly on repeat.

1998's original mix has a solid beat and tends to keep every synth flowing in a very structural way, with every element doing it's job perfectly. With FAKER's sultry vocals, the track is lifted pretty high and the distorted vocals that are thrown in between verses give it a very nice versatility that we already knew this artist could pull off.

The track sounds quite simple melody wise, and it all just seems to fall into place. With the light percussion and swirling synths, the whole track seems to have a delicateness that was definitely achieved by creating a mix of wonderful synths and melodies that couldn't be without one another.

'1998' has it's own remix EP being released very soon. ROLAND TINGS and HOMEWORK have both already submitted great remixes of the track and today Greek producer NTEIBINT has released his own rework of '1998'. The velvety melodies of the original mix are noticeable in NTEIBINT's remix but with additional instrumentation that just adds an extra kick into FAKER's honest piece.

This remix is featured on the '1998' Remix EP which you can stream in full HERE.
