Live Review: Slow Club 'Suffering You, Suffering Me' (Official Video)

20 June 2014 | 4:44 pm | Adriana Barro

Back with a reinvented sound, Slow Club have us excited for the release of their third album 'Complete Surrender'.

Following on from their 2011 album, 'Paradise', SLOW CLUB have tweaked their sound to produce a collection of fresh, polished tracks that draw influence from all corners of the industry including MARVIN GAYE and KATY PERRY. Yes, you did just read the words "Marvin Gaye" and "Katy Perry" in the same sentence.

The UK duo are comprised of CHARLES WATSON and REBECCA TAYLOR who combine their experience and talents to create an exciting and dynamic array of music. The 12 track EP is sure to make heads spin, with plenty of rich, full sounding vocals, brass, pianos, harmonies and basically anything else that could possibly produce a sound.

'Suffering You, Suffering Me' off the soon to be released album exemplifies the powerful vocals TAYLOR is capable of, as well as showing off SLOW CLUB's ability to create a performance within a song. The organic, harmonic vocals that begin the track barely give any indication of what is to come, which is what helps to keep the track engaging from start to finish with twists and turns a-plenty.

The accompanying visuals for 'Suffering You, Suffering Me' show an unexpected, but equally as entertaining story of TAYLOR as a boxing champ, with WATSON as her tartan golf hat clad coach. The clip is shot in a cinematic style that is only to be expected when accompanying such big, bold sound as that of SLOW CLUB.
