Live Review: Joakim 'Bring Your Love' ft. The Rapture's Luke Jenner (Official Video)

The video for Parisian producer Joakim's 'Bring Your Love' is all chic. Glitz, glamour; white suits, black frames. It's utterly stylised and overtly staged.

The video for Parisian producer JOAKIM's 'Bring Your Love' is all chic. Glitz, glamour; white suits, black frames. It's utterly stylised and overtly staged.

It also has a pretty strong, not to mention slick, feature from THE RAPTURE frontman Luke Jenner.

When THE RAPTURE suddenly split earlier this year, indie music fans the world over shed a quiet tear. For those who'd grown up listening to the post-punk sensibilities of the New York three piece it was something like an unforeseen breakup. It wasn't us, it was them; no sex for Ben—no sex for anyone.

This video feels like that: a breakup. Staged within an Andy Warhol studio. There's an American flag, a Japanese motorcycle; a retro art print, a retro TV set. English model/artist Bianca O'Brien waltzes around the set, lifts a medicine ball, reads a book of 'broken dreams' and drapes herself in golden foil, whilst Jenner jives and croons in a crisp white tuxedo. It's all very vogue and artsy—and a little bit like a high-brow head trip after one too many cans of Campbell's tomato soup.

Dreamy visions for some dreamy beats. Just resist the urge to paint 'LUKE' on your fingernails. It's time we all moved on...
