Live Review: Sietta 'Such Desire' (Paces Remix)

1 June 2014 | 12:00 am | Lauren Payne

Paces has got another cool remix for us, this time it's for Darwin duo, Sietta.

Gold Coast producer PACES has been on a roll with his remixes recently. After transforming SAFIA's latest single 'Paranoia, Ghosts & Other Sounds' into a sweet club banger, PACES has now delivered another remix, this time for Darwin duo SIETTA.

The pair have just released their Carry EP which features a collection of remixes by ADIT and HORRORSHOW, but it's PACES remix that has really caught our eye.

The original track has a very distinctive beat and a light vocal track that soars over the variety of synths and samples that the duo have blended together to create their unique melody. Feeling like a more tribal WILLOW BEATS, SIETTA have had a good long list of tracks that have shown that Darwin shouldn't be forgotten music wis, but PACES' new remix will definitely have our Northern friends on the dance floor for days.

By diving right on into the track, PACES has already gotten us dancing with the first few notes trickling out of the track. Tambourines and a hard beat dominate the remix with the vocal track slithering through each sample like a smooth snake. Tropical marimbas drift in and out of the track bringing forward PACES signature tropical style and with the chopped vocals being paired with a variety of dropping samples during the tracks chorus-like sections, PACES has successfully made a remix that we'll be listening to for weeks on end.

PACES is about to embark on his Can't Touch Me tour around the country before ending it on a high at the famous Splendour In The Grass festival in sleepy Byron Bay. We'll no doubt be seeing you at one of his stops and if you're digging his new remix, you can only get it from iTunes here.
