Live Review: Duke Dumont 'Won't Look Back'

20 June 2014 | 11:34 am | Lauren Payne

Duke Dumont is back with another fresh track called 'Won't Look Back'.

DUKE DUMONT has emerged with another new single which is sure to get you hooked. The producer received an amazing amount of recognition for his track 'Need You 100%' with A*M*E over a year ago, and now after a string of great tracks, DUKE DUMONT is a name no one really forgets, no matter how long the gap is between material.

Things have been pretty quiet on DUMONT's end recently, but as we found out in a chat we had before his Listen Out appearance last year, the man works extremely hard and perfects each track before it's released.

His latest single 'Won't Look Back' is the perfect  representation of DUMONT's hard work. Only just premiered on BBC Radio 1 overnight, the track is still fresh and will definitely remind you why you fell in love with DUKE DUMONT in the first place. DUMONT has a knack for choosing the most interesting vocalists for his tracks. A*M*E and JAX JONES have been apart of the producer's biggest songs but this time around, we don't have any clues as to who is producing those strong vocals so we can only thank the unknown for assisting DUKE DUMONT on 'Won't Look Back'.

DUMONT has begun this new single wonderfully with some sweet piano licks and the explosive vocals ringing in his latest instalment. Soon house synths pulse on through the track as the vocal mix carries 'Won't Look Back' through it's three-minute duration.

The house synths seem to make themselves at home in this track as they work with the piano to produce a very garage-like sound. The melody is kept quite simple because with vocals like this, you don't exactly need a lot more happening in a track. if 'Won't Look Back' had anything more involved, the track could easily become to bombarding but luckily, DUMONT is a man who has honed his craft well and knows when a track has all it needs.
