Live Review: The Preatures 'Two Tone Melody' + Tour Dates

30 May 2014 | 5:00 pm | Lauren Payne

The Preatures have released a brand new track to accompany their new Australian tour dates.

THE PREATURES have become one of Australia's biggest exports over the past year and it's not hard to see why. With their catchy melodies reeling in audiences from across the globe, the four-piece are definitely on the way to musical stardom.

With their track 'Is This How You Feel?' catapulting the band into the spotlight here in Australia, THE PREATURES quickly gathered a fan base in their home country and attracted the attention of disco-duo CLASSIXX who created a timeless remix of the track. With a spot on the Splendour in the grass line-up and a string of tour dates across the globe, THE PREATURES won't be sticking around for long and so luckily they've presented us with 'Two Tone Melody'.

'Two Tone Melody' follows on from 'Better Than It Ever Could Be' earlier this year and presents a softer side to the four-piece kicking the upbeat grooves to the side and replacing it with a smooth melody and quiet vocals to create a very sweet ballad that the band just own. It's no secret that THE PREATURES have a very good talent for constructing tracks and 'Two Tone Melody' shows their careful song construction in all it's glory.

With a very light drum beat mixing together with a very hollow sounding synth sample, 'Two Tone Melody' has a very sweet sound that you don't really hear too much today. With a very casual and relaxed vibe, the song slowly pushes on with it's beautiful vocal track raising the bar higher and higher as it goes on. A twinkling piano track swoops in before a very quiet break in the track and the cool track becomes even cooler as it glides seamlessly forth.

THE PREATURES have also announced a national tour surrounding their Splendour In the Grass appearance. After playing SXSW, Coachella and Jimmy Kimmel, the band will be dropping by Melbourne and Sydney before Splendour and then jetting off to Adelaide and Perth to finish things on a high note.
