Hockey Dad ‘I Need A Woman’

Not overly long ago, Wollongong collective Farmer & The Owl announced that they’d be launching a record label carrying the name F/O Records. Now a few months on, we’ve been introduced to the label’s first signing, HOCKEY DAD.

Ultimately a collaborative effort between live venue/cafe/bar Yours & Owls and music retailers Music Farmers, Farmer & The Owl took their union further to avoid watching fantastic local bands of the Sydney Southern Coast region become lost within the large and competitive Australian market. So to have Hockey Dad on board is a real success, as they serve as a talented product of their beachy location.

Comprised of Zach Stephenson and Billy Fleming, the boys have grown up knowing each other for nearly their entire lives. Marrying their love of the ocean with their passion for music, the dudes create a warm-hearted surf and garage sound reminiscent of an era before they were even born. Having recently recorded their debut EP in Melbourne with the helping hand of Big Scary‘s Tom Iansek, Hockey Dad look forward to not only the release of the Dreamin EP, but also live shows as they’ll be supporting Bad//Dreems this weekend, as well as playing alongside the likes of Shining BirdThe Walking Who and Jenny Broke The Window for the launch of F/O Records’ very first compilation, Beached Friends.

Before Dreamin EP is released (which you can pre-order HERE), grab a first taste with their single, ‘I Need A Woman’.
