Live Review: LISTEN: Todd Terje 'Delorean Dynamite'

11 February 2014 | 2:09 pm | Lauren Payne

Todd Terje is about to release his debut album and we can now listen to the first track featured on his debut release.

Only last month TODD TERJE announced that his debut album will finally be released in April and I don't think anyone could have been more excited by that news.

TERJE is one of the best producers coming out of Oslo, Norway and luckily we have just been given a wonderful new track that will give us a small glimpse as to what's going to be featured on the album we have been waiting so long for.

Everything TODD TERJE releases always has the best mixture of house synths and intricate percussion with a lovely disco coating. The melodies on each track are unforgettable and with his new single, 'Delorean Dynamite', it's safe to assume that we have a track that encompasses all that we love about this producer.

When we first hear the word 'Delorean', we of course think back to watching the classic eighties film Back To the Future, and honestly, when you're listening to 'Delorean Dynamite', you're taken back to those first scenes of Micheal J. Fox and that beloved time machine.

The eighties influence on this track is so apparent that you're almost tempted to break out those shoulder pads. The synths travel steadily throughout 'Delorean Dynamite' with a variety of shimmering synths gliding over the top making everything sound magical. The disco influence that oozes out of TODD TERJE's work shines here like never before; the funky bass and twangy guitars that appear later in the track definitely emphasise this further.

TODD TERJE's debut album appropriately called It's Album Time and will be released on April 8 through his own label Olsen Records. The album is up for pre-sale already so if you want to make sure you get It's Album Time as soon as it's released, then head over here to get set up.
