Live Review: LISTEN: Oscar Key Sung 'All I Could Do' (Naysayer & Gilsun Remix)

21 January 2014 | 6:46 pm | Hannah Galvin

Check out Naysayer & Gilsun's very different take on Oscar Key Sung's 'All I Could Do'.

Late last year, Melbourne man OSCAR KEY SUNG released the follow up single to 'It's Coming', titled 'All I Could Do'. Through the listening experience, we felt its passionate execution and rich production value within the realm of the electronic market.

To feast upon a twist, his Melbourne bro's NAYSAYER & GILSUN have taken the track out for a spin. Unloading in not quite the same demeanour, the duo have tweaked the introduction to 'All I Could Do' by increasing its pitch. Running behind it though is a suspicious creaking noise, before a concerning fuzz follows Oscar Key Sung's vocals to maintain the foreground.

Due to this, it feels like OKS is being held captive, as he sounds quite detached from the instrumentation at most points of the remix. In saying that it's almost romantic, as he carries the soul of the song on his back whilst finding himself lost in transit.

Attend the three minute mark though and you'll bear witness to the weight of OKS's passion driving into his lyrical delivery that finally sees him clutching tightly onto the hand of the track, as they travel through the song's rush hour right until the very end of Naysayer & Gilsun's remix of 'All I Could Do'.

Oscar Key Sung's debut EP is set for release in the not too distant future via Two Bright Lakes.
