ARTISTS TO WATCH IN 2014: Spoonty

The young beat-wizard (yes, it's a real thing), performer and all round nice guy SPOONTY is the Blue Mountain's answer to the likes of GOLD PANDA in an alternate kaleidoscopic hip-hop universe - and he's only staring to bubble up to the surface.

Releasing an absolutely huge amount of material over the past year, this young producer is showing no signs of slowing down - with his tunes ranging from deep and hazy depths to sparklingly clear and dizzying highs, there is a certain air of fresh originality that cuts SPOONTY above the rest of his peers within the burgeoning Australian beat scene.

SPOONTY's refreshing take on hip-hop and bass music is sternly rooted in positive-vibes drenched in heavy manipulated and at many times obscure samples, revealing a truly unique production technique and talent.

As well as just stonkingly great production value, this producer has been crafting his live shows over the past year, growing into a beefy performance completely revolving around a sampler setup, something which baffles and entrances audiences every time.

To see a lot of producers moving away from the safe territories of DJ mixers and CD players and venturing outwards into the vast avenues of live setups is exciting - no two people play the same way, and it's always fun to watch whilst your jiving around on the dance floor.

So, with a completely original style of hip-hop production, and a live show to boot, it's pretty safe to say the Mr. SPOONTY will definitely be one to watch flourish as an artist in the year 2014. Bring it on, bwoy!
