Live Review: LISTEN: Fractures 'Cadence'

4 November 2013 | 11:06 pm | Lauren Payne

Fractures has released a haunting new track called 'Cadence'.

Now that summer is coming around you'll need tracks that will be your party staples, but what about the tracks that you'll need for the quiet summery days at home, drinking tea on the balcony with incense burning next to you? That's where FRACTURES new effort 'Cadence' comes in.

The lyrics have been posted on FRACTURES Soundcloud page, and they're not exactly cheerful. "Bury this fantasy that I'm living in," is just one of the haunting lines of this sombre affair, but despite it's monotone mood, 'Cadence' is full of beauty.

FRACTURES had a bit of a scary few months prior to this particular release. Mark Zito, the man behind the music, unfortunately had a fall that left him in a neck brace for three months just after releasing his track 'Twisted'. 'Cadence' is a comeback that focuses more so on songwriting with the synths and beat staying quite soft behind the vocal. The warm bass flows through 'Cadence' easily with everything just simply falling into place around it.

The clarity of the song is astounding and the story behind it just radiates through the track.
