Has anyone ever told you that every great party mix should start with a Prince song? No? Well someone told BREAKBOT as the 19th instalment of the Fixtapes presented by Solé Bicycles starts off with one of the most famous New Years Eve tunes, 1999.

As this song plays out you should be tying up the sparkly shoelaces on your dancing trotters and buckle up for a disco-themed ride through the ages with Blue Wheels Journey. The mix is themed perfectly and mixed into a gooey explosion of sounds that make you want to shimmy on down just like Travolta once did. Deep basslines make for a bad ass party starter of a mix and just when you think it can't get any more disco delicious, it does.

Blue Wheels Journey truly reflects BREAKBOT's aesthetic and makes no secret of what must inspire the funk-master himself. At around the 10-minute mark, Jane Childs 'Don't Want To Fall In Love' (Sheep Pettibone Remix) bursts in with sweet vocals through quench all those 90's reminiscers out there looking to know what a block party in New York City felt like in 1990.

By the time you hit the 20-minute mark you will feel all squelchy inside with the flawless synth and retro beats. Donna Washington fittingly slides on in with 'You Can't Hide From The Boogie', and why would you want to? Punchy keyboard and cheeky bass lines make room for Donna's sassy vocals.

To finish off this tantalising mix, the Doobie Brothers allow you to sit back and light up that mellow joint of love with 'Flying Clouds'. Just like wrapping up a night spent out on the dancefloor, you may now allow yourself to relax, dive into that blue pool of acoustic guitar, and fly away with the clouds.
