Need something really weird to break up this post weekend depression we know you're all having? The new clip from CFCF has to be what you're looking for.

Need something beautifully weird to break up this post weekend depression we know you're all having? Well, the new clip from CFCF has to be the answer you're looking for.

The clip comes in support of the Montreal based producer's latest single, 'Beyond Light', to be taken from the new CFCF LP, Outside - and explores plenty of themes surrounding the tracks' title.

Michael Silver (aka CFCF), enlisted the help of Derrick Belcham and Ruby Kato Attwood to take control of 'the track's accompanying visuals. And it seems that took the idea of that a lot deeper than many would expect. As the clip itself is a long psychedelic themed journey through worlds of colour, darkness and light.

Although it looks like it's all computer generated imagery, the hypnotic video was created from chemicals, housewares and toys bought from the creators' local department store.

Belcham explains this with AltSounds:"Each element is the result of an experiment in which a light source, an 'effector', and a subject, were aligned in series with the RED Scarlet camera. Through a series of those experiments, we built up a palette of colours, textures and perceived symbols that we then edited them into a narrative series matching our interpretation of the song."

And as he states, their interpretation of the song seems to be spot on. These layers of colours, the repetition of shots, the light vs dark nature of the visuals as well as the underlying sense of emotion in the clip - matches its soundtracking music to a tee. CFCF has built himself a reputation for creating music built upon the sense of repetition and looping, whilst taking so much of his influence from the darker and more intricate soundscapes of electronic - and 'Beyond Light' is a perfect example of this.

With so many deep dark synth lines being layered all over the place, being mixed with lighter organs and tribal percussion, there's just so much to love in this track. So it's really good to see it receive the admiration it deserves in it's own clip.

A+ work from some brilliant Canadian minds.
