Live Review: PREMIERE: Panama 'Always'

4 October 2013 | 4:28 pm | Lauren Payne

Panama have finally released details of their new sophomore EP and released a new track called 'Always'.

It's been a very long wait, the last time Sydney-based act PANAMA released a track it blew us all away. The boys just have a unique hopefulness that beams from the light synths and steady beats that they produce.

PANAMA are about to release their sophomore EP that will be led by their new track 'Always'. It's the only single to be released from the EP thus far, but it reminds you of what you loved about the band when you first heard their music and if you're listening for the first time, you're in for a treat.

'Always' was recorded over in the steep city of San Francisco. The producer behind it is Eric Vroucek, who has previously worked with !!!, CLASSIXX, and HOLY GHOST!, just to name a few. The track opens with McCleary's sweet piano tune, showcasing his classic training, before bursting into that signature hopefulness that the band just own. The lyrics are colourful and the synths sound like musical sun beams, 'Always' sounds like summer in three minutes, which you wouldn't think would be possible.

The sophomore EP shares the title of this particular track, Always, and is now available to purchase on Bandcamp for whatever price you like. This however, is for a limited time only before it's released on vinyl, and remixes accompany it.
