Live Review: LISTEN: Panama 'Always' (Classixx Remix)

22 October 2013 | 3:07 pm | Lauren Payne

Classixx have remixed Panama's latest track 'Always' and it's a remix that you'll have playing over and over again.

PANAMA have just released their sophomore EP and each track has a flavour that everybody is bound to fall in love with. It's called Always and when you first listen to it, you'll want to never stop because of it's blissful melodies and charming lyrics.

These guys have been a favourite band of many Sydney-siders for a while and as their name has grown to be placed on the lips of everyone in Australia, PANAMA have also been putting their mark on people overseas, most recently a lovely two-piece dance act that you may recognise.

The title track for Always has just got everyone groovin' with it's disco-influenced melody and heavy piano notes thumping through the track. 'Always' is definitely among PANAMA's best work and I think American duo CLASSIXX agree, why do I think that? Well they did remix it after all. CLASSIXX are remix kings, so if you've been lucky enough to have your music on their remix roll, then you're definitely doing something right.

CLASSIXX just wrapped up the Listen Out tour here in Australia, but now by releasing this remix of one of Australia's most hyped new acts, well it's a nice parting gift for us all. Adding in a steady beat with some trickling synths trailing in the mix as well, CLASSIXX have added in some lovely new elements to give 'Always' a fresh new vibe that transforms it into a summer staple track. A cool bass riff struts through each verse with such a cool aura, disco-influenced synths tattle over the bass and really we've got a track that's going to stick around for a while.

PANAMA are set to do great things. With their crisp sound and elegant piano accompaniments their next release will no doubt be just as sweet as Always so keep an eye out for this bunch.
