Whilst you were busy visiting your grandparents, working a crappy retail job, painting the house or staying in some disgusting club all night this weekend - SBTRKT dropped a brand new track. 'IMO' has seemingly come out of nowhere, but already is making quite a stir.
The incredibly elusive producer and constant Sampha collaborator, shared the track by posting a link via his Twitter account (and then other social media channels) yesterday morning (Aus time). When followed, the link ended up at the youtube video for 'IMO'. Not so much a video clip by any means, the track was accompanied by impressive visuals conceived in a collaborative project between Lorenzo Durantini and A Hidden Place.
The description of the video reads... "new music from my album recordings (un mixed/mastered). In memory of my brother Daniel." SBTRKT then followed this up by posting the explanation “p.s its not a ‘single’/ planned campaign/ album promo hype thing. just music i want to share.”

The track itself is a melancholic affair, with plenty of pitched up organ patches and whirling synths and when thrown behind some slick minimalist visuals - it provides a very pleasing two and half minutes. It's another trip through space with one of the worlds best producers, and we feel this is just the beginning of something big.
