Live Review: LISTEN: Jagwar Ma 'Come Save Me' (Flight Facilities Graceland Remix)

27 September 2013 | 12:35 am | Hannah Galvin

Flight Facilities have blown off the dust of their 2011 remix of Jagwar Ma's 'Come Save Me', finally giving us the opportunity of hearing the killer track!

A mix that's been kept on the down low since its conception, FLIGHT FACILITIES have surprised us in the greatest of ways with their dusted off remix of JAGWAR MA's 'Come Save Me'!

Created back in 2011, we're not entirely sure what took it so long to reach our end as listeners. We're so glad it finally has though, as it's an absolute killer of a remix! Though would you expect anything less from these two incredible acts?

Sometimes simplicity goes a really long way, as this gem has replaced the initial intro, now kicking off with a beat formed by numerous handclaps acting simultaneously, sure to make you bop like an absolute dag. The speed of the percussive sound is what stems this edit, creating expectations by building up to the party jam that it is. This sample plays a big part in the rendition as it cuts in and out throughout the track; sometimes accompanied by the original repetitive chant of Gabriel Winterfield's lyricism.

There's also other bits and pieces that have been extracted and preserved from the original, dropping in amongst the new soundboard, including a groovy bassline and loads of more percussion. Listen close enough, and you may even recognise the calls of a chimpanzee, allowing this track joyous Junglebook undertones!
