Live Review: PREMIERE: Kilter Live @ The Metro

30 August 2013 | 5:47 pm | Lauren Payne

Kilter did a killer performance when he played the Metro whilst opening for Shapeshifter. Now you can watch the video and see for yourself.

A fresh crop of Australian producers are emerging thick and fast as electronic music seems to have been getting more and more attention over the past couple of years. Not too long ago, SHAPERSHIFTER toured our little island of red dirt and his opening act was someone who is definitely going to  be receiving a huge amount of attention has his tracks are noticed more and more everyday.

KILTER's latest remix of 'What I Might Do' by the soulful BEN PEARCE has just reached number one on HypeMachine and the remix is just plain smooth with the vocals just rolling through the layered synths that KILTER has added in as well as some chopped vocals that are dotted about and of course the energy that oozes from the remix is extremely high, you can't get any better than that now can you?

The boy has been compared to FLUME, but there's only so many comparisons you can make before realising that the two are actually different. The two do share a working relationship and get along pretty well, but listening to KILTER you can hear a more soulful edge, making his music slightly different to his companion.

The drum machines that fill his tracks are fantastic as they bounce on through his many creations. Seeing him live would be an amazing experience and here we are proud to show you a live video of KILTER performing his 'What I Might Do' remix to a sold out venue with over 1200 people in the audience (although you cannot see it in the video).

KILTER will be popping up everywhere now that you've seen him so keep an eye out because he's coming thick and fast, like a bullet.
