Shortly after commencing her tour of the United States, the New Zealand-born songstress LORDE has announced her debut album. This announcement has come shortly after the news that she has already sold out her first-ever US shows in New York and Los Angeles which is a pretty hefty achievement considering that the singer is only 16.
Already taking New Zealand by storm off the heels of her debut EP, ‘The Love Club‘, (released via LAVA/Republic Recordings) which amassed just north of 60,000 downloads on soundcloud placing Lorde in the #1 spot on the country’s top albums chart, her sound is a combination of bliss minimalistic production intertwining with her sombre yet bouncy and poppy vocal style.
Her single ‘Royals‘ taken from The Love Club EP definitely brings the vibes, and after already accumulating 4.5 million views on her youtube channel, Lorde is beginning to make her mark on the global scene:
With another string of dates being added to her US tour it’s not hard to see that this teen is just getting started. Alongside support from bigwigs like VH1 and Pitchfork likening her to the pop heavyweights such as Adele, Leona Lewis and Regina Spektor, Lorde is definitely one girl to keep your eye on.
Her debut album is set to release through LAVA/Republic Records this year on September 30 and will be available for purchase through iTunes/stores.
