Club Mod is currently on the boom, operating as Modular’s baby brother that's into deep techno and house creations - the label is releasing massive track after massive track at the moment. In a couple of days they'll be dropping another big one, and it's coming straight from the energy alchemist - ROLAND TINGS.

The up and coming Australian producer will be dropping his new double A-side single, 'Tomita’s Basement/Cagean Sea', on August 12 through Club Mod.

Tings has been around for a couple of years, gradually building a reputation as one of the most talent artists in the local electronic scene. Gathering influences from a select clutch of specialist Melbourne music institutions - he continued to explore the different sounds within the booming underground techno scene. Radio shows such as Noise In My Head and Strange Holiday on local community station 3RRR, club nights such as Bamboo Musik - these local touchstones sent Tings travelling through alternate musical realities.

Finally, we have the result.

On 'Tomita's Basement' & 'Cagean Sea', we see the weird, raw, emotive, and functional within the dance genre, all whilst maintaining their own rhythmic idiosyncrasies. Both of the double A-sides, were a result of Tings recent move to Berlin - and hence, share many attributes with the city.

'Tomita’s Basement' was actually made in Tomita’s Basement in Berlin, a propulsive modular synth workout from far below the surface that in a roundabout way pays tribute to Japanese composer Yann Tomita. Whilst, 'Cagean Sea' is a more blissful affair of azure dancefloor melancholy. You can listen to the former below, right now!

The 'Tomita's Basement/Cagean Sea' single package is out August 13 on 12" vinyl as well as digitally, via Club Mod. And will feature Future Times’, Maxmillion Dunbar, and Junior Boys’, Jeremy Greenspan, taking on the remix duties.
