Live Review: LISTEN: Oisima 'Everything About Her' ft. Annabelle Weston (Ta-ku Remix)

23 August 2013 | 11:57 pm | Lauren Payne

Adelaide producer Oisima's single 'Everything About Her' has been picked up and rattled around a bit by Perth producing-tycoon Ta-ku.

Our favourite remix king TA-KU is back with a new take on a lovely new track by the equally lovely OISIMA. The Adelaide producer dropped in new single featuring the stellar vocals of ANNABELLE WESTON not too long ago and is actually the first track taken from his debut album Nicaragua Nights.

Of course it didn't take long for Perthian TA-KU to listen, and love the track therefore getting him pumped to create a remix with just the right amount of flavour. For those of you who may not of heard of OISIMA's brilliance just yet, he's already shared the stage with XXYYXX, and played Splendour In the Grass, WOMAdelaide and the Melbourne International Jazz Festival. So yeah, he's pretty good.

The original mix for his new track 'Everything About Her' is just a wonderful mix of ANNABELLE WESTON's jazzy vocals, hip hop infused melodies and a beat that just pumps up a warm synth on top of it. Now TA-KU's remix is even more exciting, let me show you why. Twinkling synths float a top a deep distorted vocal, and of course another light, rich vocal track. The hip hop elements are still present in the remix, as well as the warm synths that float across the original, however a deep bass line has been added as well and quite a hi-pitched synth that dances a top the entire track like a little ballerina in a jewellery box.

The whole thing is just an amazing mix, trio of great Australian artists all gathered together for one astounding remix that's sure to be played a hell of a lot now that it's been released. The track is also available for a free download which is always exciting. The free download can be snapped up from Bandcamp, and honestly guys, keep an eye out for OISIMA, this guys got some great tracks behind him and no doubt plenty more to come!
