Live Review: LISTEN: Taan Newjam 'You're All I Need To Get By'

TAAN NEWJAM is a mix master who has worked with the likes of YOLANDA BE COOL, WANKELMUT and BOOKA SHADE, so he's already made a bit of a mark on the electronic scene.
Sweat It Out! has decided that we should get our first taste of a TAAN NEWJAM original before summer rolls on in. The boys at the label said that they were going to release this track during our previous summer, but instead they held it back until now.

'You're All I Need To Get By' is the original that the TAAN NEWJAM has pulled together, and if you think that the track doesn't sound familiar, but just can't put your finger on the reason why, it's because it in fact samples MARVIN GAYE and TAMMI TERRELL's tune of the same name. Trickling synths play a big part in this track as they just sprinkle down onto the catchy beat and the borrowed vocals of Vanessa Ekpenyong which has some short cuts that luckily emphasise the unique voice.
Basically this will be one of the party tracks you'll be listening to all through summer and you can thank Sweat It Out! for providing the track to us all. TAAN NEWJAM should have plenty more originals coming our way too, showing the world what he's made of and if 'You're All I Need To Get By' is any indication of what's to come, I feel that it will most certainly be most adequate.
Sweat It Out! have definitely been finding some hidden gems lately and I applaud them on their findings, everyone should love these guys.
