Live Review: LISTEN: St Lucia 'Elevate'
St Lucia returns with his uplifting track 'Elevate'.
Johannesburg native ST LUCIA may have gone M.I.A for a short time, but now he's back and we couldn't be happier! The best part about it is he's bringing along with him a new album that will be released in the not too distant future, fist bumps all round!
The return of ST LUCIA comes in the form of his new track 'Elevate'. It has already hit number five on Hype Machine and plans on rising higher. This is probably the most uplifting track since EMPIRE OF THE SUN's 'Alive', the mood is high and the backing vocals of a cheery choir make the track feel all the more fantastic and just so darn bright.
The tropical tones and synths on the track give it a slight eighties feel as well, but you just can't go past those fantastic vocals, that stem from ST LUCIA's choir school history. The chorus just chimes with catchy lyrics that you can see yourself singing on the nicest days at the top of your lungs, "it elevates you, elevates you now," see you're doing it already.

Everything about 'Elevate' is just brilliant and so here's hoping more new material won't be too far off as ST LUCIA's new album When The Night is released on October 8. If this is any indication of what the album will contain, then I'm expecting more big, bright numbers with full melodies and choral hooks that will have you skipping down the sidewalk on a regular basis.
