18 July 2013 | 11:59 pm | Lauren Payne

Polica's haunting track 'Tiff' has ben remixed by Don McKinney as the band announced their second album's release date.

POLICA

POLICA have made waves all across the globe with their debut album Give You The Ghost. People listened to the wonderful tracks that the American darlings had created and caught the attention of everyone including BON IVER aka Justin Vernon. Vernon lent his vocal chords to POLICA for their their track 'Tiff' after stating that they were "the best band I've ever heard.'Tiff' is a haunting track and with a twisted music video directed by Australian Nabil Elderkin, who has previously worked with FRANK OCEAN and JAMES BLAKE, 'Tiff' has become a track that is eerily beautiful both visually and musically.

POLICA have not only caught the attention of other artists, producers have also taken notice of the enticingly haunting track, and DRAKE-collaborator and THE WEEKND producer Don McKinney is one that has decided that 'Tiff' would be the perfect remix subject. Keeping true to the lyrical content of the track, McKinney has slowed down 'Tiff' and added some more quietly distorted vocals into the mix alongside synths that make the track slightly more electronic than the pop track already is.

The remix is mainly focused on the vocals, with them soaring over the quiet melodies that float alongside the beautiful trickling synths. The remix is beautiful and Don McKinney has turned 'Tiff' into something a little less chilling, and a little more content. The remix will soon be available on iTunes for you to buy and keep for your listening pleasure.

POLICA are about to release their sophomore album Shulamith, have now revealed the records album artwork and release date. Shulamith will be released on October 18 through Intertia on Pod, and the album artwork is interesting to look at as two bold colours bounce off each other. Red and blue become the main colours for the artwork for Shulamith, red as blood pouring down a girl's neck, and blue as the solid background for the photograph. Be sure to nab the album once it's released as more intricate tracks like 'Tiff' will surely feature, and excite, on the album.
