Walter Sobcek puts his own twist on Phoenix's catchy track 'Trying To be Cool'.

PHOENIX have brought some very exotic synth sounds into their latest album Bankrupt! and if you've listened to the first single 'Entertainment' you'll know exactly what I mean. The whole entire song is a dance tour of Asia, with the music video just fitting the track like a glove, watch it here.

The second single released from Bankrupt! is the catchy track 'Trying To be Cool'. Now we all know that PHOENIX don't really have to try hard at being cool, considering their album Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix shot the French boys to stardom with it's calming vibes and light melodies.

Bankrupt! is a lot more synth driven that Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix, you can hear that  just by listening to the introduction of 'Trying To Be Cool'. It starts with a xylophone type synth that spirals you down into the track, bursting with a melodic synth hook and great lyrics. 'Trying To Be Cool' jumps out of the speakers like a brightly coloured paint bursts out of its plastic tube when it's been stood on by a small child, and now there's a remix that kind of changes the whole vibe of 'Trying To Be Cool'.

Now this remix obviously doesn't change it in a bad way, it just points it in a different direction. WALTER SOBCEK are the artists behind this new work, and really the first thing you think of whilst listening to the track is old-school DAFT PUNK. The groovy hooks and nostalgic beat add a bit of a disco edge to 'Trying To Be Cool' and with some hollowly distorted vocals on top of it all, a DAFT PUNK influence pretty much just yells out at you.

WALTER SOBCEK have turned their fellow countrymen's track into a disco track with a twist. The remix is now available for free download from WALTER SOBCEK's Soundcloud page.
