Today, we give you an freaking exclusive premiere stream of 'The Pact'. It's the lead single from Paces' debut EP of the same name.
Okay, we think we've made it clear in the past that we are big fans of Mikey Perry. We've talked about his shows with Surecut Kids, and we've talked about his mixtapes, remixes and releases under his solo guise, PACES. So let's just cut to the chase on this one? No BS.
'The Pact' features the uber-talented Melbourne songstress Chela, you may know her from her vocals in that Clubfeet track you love, and is a ballad for the bass loving generation. It manages to blend together many elements from what makes the genre so powerful right now, with Trap esq. percussion coming together with warm moody synths and computerised glitches - creating a melancholic sound. Throw in the heartfelt and mesmerising vocal prowess of Chela as well as some serious deep bass beats and suddenly this relaxed sound is transformed into a emotionally charged electronic anthem.

This just demonstrates the ever evolving sound of Paces, which is no surprise, as The Pact EP comes on the back of receiving national airplay love on Triple J, supporting beat-maker extraordinaire Lunice, having his bootleg of The xx's ‘Angels’ receive over 22,000 plays on Soundcloud.
Oh, we should also mention that the EP is being released (most likely because of everything aforementioned) via San Fran label SYMBOLS, which is headed up by visionary label boss Kastle. The Pact EP will be the first release by an Australian on the label, ever! So kudos to you Mikey!
The Pact EP will feature 3 originals (including 'The Pact') as well as a remix by up and coming Melbourne beat maker - W1SP, and is out today!!!
