Live Review: PREMIERE: Movement 'Feel Real' EP

So Sydney three-piece MOVEMENT have recently joined Modular Records for a release on their brand new 'CLUB MOD' imprint. Yep, the record company that has gone on to achieve success with acts like THE AVALANCHES, YEAH YEAH YEAHS and TAME IMPALA (just to name a few!).

So if you haven't heard of these guys, they have just released their forthcoming single 'Feel Real' and within the first minute it all makes sense why Modular welcomed them to their family.

The song is obviously beholden to personal, late night/early morning R&B. The downhearted piano chords, choppy vocals and moody echo sounds remind me of a hazy, drunken night out.

The track's songwriting utilizes cliched' passages and turns them on their head eg. 'I'll be your romeo/ you'll be my juliet'. For some reason these fabled lines just work and come across as undeniably charming. We applaud Modular for scoring these guys and picking them up for their first single, it's only up from here!
