Live Review: FREE DOWNLOAD: Rustie 'Slasherr' (Flume Edit)

Amid the announcement that FLUME will be playing this year's HOLY SHIP festival alongside SKRILLEX, DUCK SAUCE and DIPLO; we finally get to stream and download an edit that we've been hearing lots of recently from his live show.

Labelled as 'Slashstep' the track has all of your regular FLUME elements, crazy ethreal synths, a few distorted vocals and just that bass that you can't help dancing to.

With the original track being heavily based on it's beat, FLUME has made it it more about the melody and if course it works well in his favour, that is to say, when that break does finally hit, you can hear the similarities between RUSTIE and FLUME. Those warped synths that they both use a lot sweep in and you recognise a bit of each artist in that break. 'Slasherr' is a very popular track when played live with DJ sets, ALISON WONDERLAND has played the track a few times, so it seems RUSTIE has a great reputation between other artists.

FLUME's 'Slasherr' edit has always been a favourite at his live shows and so we can expect the track to be played at this years HOLY SHIP festival when he takes the stage. HOLY SHIP has only just announced it's line-up to the excitement of so many punters. The headliner being SKRILLEX has definitely gotten a lot of people pumped, but also with the likes of FLOSSTRADAMUS, DISCLOSURE and A-TRAK taking the stage as well as our very own FLUME, the chicks and dudes of Miami are in for a lovely dance treat.
