With 14 international magazine front covers to her name, numerous producer/DJ awards and 10 million You Tube views, it’s hard to believe that MAYA JANE COLES is yet to release an artist album. All that is about to change in June 2013 with the release of her debut LP 'Comfort' (I/AM/ME via Kobalt Label Services), one of the most eagerly awaited debut electronic albums in years.

As a prelude to the album dropping, MAYA has chosen to release lead single "Everything" featuring Grammy Award winning Scandinavian songstress KARIN PARK on vocals and co-writing duties. "Everything" also marks the arrival of MAYA's debut music video - a noir tale of ornithological obsession.

Released on MAYA’s own I/AM/ME label, the full album is reflective of her broader musical influences both in and outside the electronic world, and has been produced, engineered and mixed herself. She plays every instrument, creates every sound, designs the artwork and even takes on vocal duties for tracks like the lo-fi "Stranger" and the hypnotic "Dreamer" – a clear display of this London girl’s wide array of talents.

Maya says; “It's very exciting to be in charge of my debut album. It's given me total creative freedom and that is a necessity for me as an artist. I just hope that others will love the album as much as I loved working on it”.

With a host of features from past collaborators the album truly has a family feel. "Fall from Grace" sees MAYA reuniting with CATHERINE POCKSON of ALPINES and "Wait for You" brings MAYA back together with legendary producer/rapper TRICKY, having previously remixed his track "Time To Dance".

There are some notable new collaborations, with MAYA duetting with electronic icon MISS KITTIN on "Take A Ride", and the pioneering Kim Ann Foxman; formerly front woman of HERCULES & LOVE AFFAIR, on future single "Burning Bright".

In support of the album, MAYA will be performing festival shows at Coachella (USA), Fuji Rocks (Japan), Glastonbury (UK), Lowlands (Holland), Sonar (Spain) and Ultra (USA). With a whole host of other festivals, club shows and a frantic Ibiza season ahead, it seems that Maya will be bringing "Comfort" to ears all over the world, showcasing why she is regarded as one of the most exciting producers in a generation.

“Comfort” is released in Australia on I/AM/ME via Kobalt Label Services on June 28 2013. Grab 'Everything' featuring KARIN PARK on iTunes HERE.
