Live Review: LISTEN: Chet Faker 'No Diggity' (Rat & Co Remix Preview)
Rat & Co have taken Chet Faker's illustrious vocals and laid them over a soothing synth track, replacing the beat with a light cover that absolutely oozes.
You know you love him. That bearded voice with god-like qualities takes over your eardrums with every note. ‘No Diggity’ shot Melbourne-based songman CHET FAKER into the stars, and I can tell you it’s not coincidence that ‘No Diggity’ was featured on the choir flick Pitch Perfect.
I do realize CHET FAKER didn’t actually write the track, BLACKSTREET of course brought it into the musical world with DR DRE and their friends, but the cover brought ‘No Diggity’ back to life, and now there’s a remix preview to go with it.
RAT & CO have taken CHET FAKER’s illustrious vocals and laid them over a soothing synth track, taking out the general beat that came with his cover, and replacing it with a light electronic cover that oozes over the track.

Using the chorus was an interesting choice, but it works because of course it’s the chorus that everyone remembers, the verse lyrics kind of sinks into oblivion. RAT & CO have overlaid the vocals slightly with a verse hovering quietly underneath CHET FAKER’s chorus. It sounds ghostly and makes the track all the more mysterious and eerie.
Of course this is only a preview, which has been released to celebrate CHET FAKER’s trip to Europe with RAT & CO accompanying him on the trip. Every artist seems to be jet setting off to Europe this month as the continents festival season slowly kicks off.
The preview runs only for one minute and forty-seven seconds and now just listening to its dreamy melody, we want the full version! There’s no word on when that will be released but we are hoping that’ll be soon because you can’t release a preview track this good, and make that fans wait months for the full track.
That’s just plain mean.
