Purple Sneakers favourites Four Tet, Aeroplane and Dillon Francis all have remixes of Justin Timberlake's 'Suit & Tie' about to drop. Which do you prefer?

Currently sitting pretty at number five on the US Billboard Hot 100 charts, JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE's ‘Suit and Tie’ (featuring JAY-Z) is not finding itself short of plays, but with his latest attempts of world domination in mind a remix package is being prepped that covers pretty much all bases of club music.

FOUR TET’s glitchy garage take on the track is only interested in JT’s vocals, putting his first verse on top of a contortion of chopped up oohs, ahs and heys from the original track.

Held together by a thumping beat and plenty of hat the beat loops and layers until the vocals slowly become percussive and JAY-Z’s trademark ‘UH’ carries the track it into a home stretch of hypnotic house funk. Four Tet’s been doing this for years but he’s never had a platform as big as Timberlake to expose his work.

AEROPLANE doesn’t touch the vocals, has his fun with the horns and generally uses a lot more of the source material than the other remixers, but he still leaves his mark with his brand of beachy disco anchoring the track.

A soundcloud commenter noted that it’s “so smooth, bops along with a good groove” and it really is that simple, it washes over you so easily that you don’t realise it adds an extra minute to the track even without JAY-Z’s verse.

During a medley of hits on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon earlier this week Justin broke out into Bandz A Make Her Dance and Ni**az In Paris before and during his performance of Cry Me A River.

DILLON FRANCIS’ remix gives DJs worldwide the opportunity to relive the goofy fun every night, jumping between a hard banging trap edit of the chorus and a spacy funk breakdown. Francis emphasises that he cant wait to get you on the floor good looking and makes good of his intentions.

Unfortunately, JAY-Z’s verse isn’t on any of these remixes but rap fans can hope for an inevitable remix featuring any one of 2 CHAINZ, FRENCH MONTANA or LIL WAYNE (listed in order of desirability) coming out anytime soon.
