Live Review: WATCH: Jack R Reilly 'Cold Reminders'

1 January 2013 | 3:00 pm | Hannah Galvin

Jack R Reilly has delivered us his very honest and humble clip to his new track 'Cold Reminders'.

Really obscure and busy film clips can be great. There tends to be some kind of storyline blurred behind a great heap of energetic content. But sometimes tracks don't deserve to be taken in such a fashion. Sometimes less is more.

This is the case with JACK R REILLY's clip for his track 'Cold Reminders'.

A very honest approach in visualising his stunning new track, your eye will soon transfix on a clip comprised of Reilly working with music producer Syd Green at the Mononest studios.

Softly fading in and out of focus, the camera scans Reilly from head to toe as he sits in his stool with his Fender strat. For the entire duration of the track, watch as Reilly falls deeper and deeper into his own world, focused on delivering his heavenly lyricism and gentle composition.

Although filmed during the actual recording of the track, the clip for 'Cold Reminders' is delivered as the completed song. Listen out for the back up vocals, friendly drums and subtle percussion.

On the side of running Huchi Muchi – a Wollongong event collective who aim to throw parties in support of local bands – Reilly (featured HERE) plans to release an EP which will feature 'Cold Reminders'. What a busy dude!

Catch Jack R. Reilly launch 'Cold Reminders' at Wollongong's Yours & Owls on January 5th; the same day you can download the track off his Bandcamp for free! So in other words, sync it to your iPod and memorise all the lyrics before you watch it live in the first week of 2013.
