Have you ever wanted something more from the usual array of Christmas songs released each December? Well thank that lucky star upon your Christmas tree, because we have a brand new effort from Brooklyn’s EX COPS.
Dipped in layers of distortion, this duo have managed to make a Christmas jingle fall under the genre of Lo-Fi – and that is something that we find very very pleasing. And to add some extra cred to it, they’ve chosen a pretty worthy seasonal track to cover, ‘Wonderful Christmas Time’ - which was originally penned and recorded by none other than Paul McCartney.

What began its life as a slower more down tempo pop track has now been sped up, psyched out, and roughly recorded. The result being, a wonderfully bright and cheery way to get you psyched for the holiday season – regardless of your inclinations towards it.
Now this is just a taster from one of those bands you should be watching out for in the New Year, as their debut LP, True Hallucinations, is due out January 22 2013. And if you’re not sold by this track alone – maybe their recent signing to Fat Possum Records (Wavves, Youth Lagoon, Spiritualized) and landing of a support slot for Paul Banks’ (that guy from that band, Interpol) New York tour dates will help sway you.
