FEATURED ARTIST: Cosmo Jarvis

11 December 2012 | 5:25 pm | Hannah Galvin

Cosmo Jarvis is a very talented man. Check him out here!

He’s a singer, a songwriter, an actor, a director, a composer, a producer and a multi-instrumentalist. He’s completed nearly 300 songs and has created about 65 films. His name is COSMO JARVIS and he is quite clearly an extraordinary artist.

When Cosmo was just twelve years old, he developed the talent and passion of writing songs. He was influenced as a result of listening to the Beatles’ ‘Blackbird’ as he wanted to craft something just as superb. So he wrote and wrote and wrote!

But music wasn’t his only passion. He also loved film. In his teen years, Cosmo started making Jackass-like films with his bros, pretty much just fucking shit up.

He has since been continuously making music and films, performing at huge festivals and headlining his own shows. At just 21 years old, Jarvis has already released two full length records, his debut being a two disc album holding 21 tracks.

You may have heard his single off his latest release Is The World Strange, Or Am I Strange?, ‘Gay Pirates’.

One of his films, Alley Way, was screened at Texas’ SXSW. As a continuation, Jarvis is currently in the process of shooting his first feature length film which was, of course, also produced and written by the man himself and plans to submit it to festivals and the like.

Clearly a dude who enjoys a lot on his plate, you can catch the musical/film making genius in Australia for Falls Festival (in both Lorne and Marion Bay) and Southbound. He’ll also be playing a few shows around Australia.
