The rumours are true. Fantastically true. Arcade Fire management has confirmed that their next record will feature LCD Soundsystem frontman James Murphy.

Yep, the rumours are true. Fantastically true. Arcade Fire management has confirmed that their next record will feature in several tracks with LCD Soundsystem frontman and part time Barry O'Farrell impersonator - James Murphy.

Manager of the band, Scott Rodgers, has confirmed the inklings, stating "they're in with James Murphy on three or so songs, plus Markus Dravs who is a long-time collaborator".

The bands started hanging out together during the sophomoric Neon Bible tour and not long after Murphy left LCD Soundsystem, citing that there were too many other things he couldn't do because of it - one of those things was making an Arcade Fire record. With Murphy retired from LCD Soundsystem, he confirmed rumours that he will feature in up to three tracks on the new Arcade Fire record. But it's a mere drop in the ocean compared to the 35 odd tracks that Rodgers said have been recorded. “They write too many songs" Rodgers explained,  "that’s a good problem to have....two albums’ worth for sure.” Surely a double album is too good to be true.

Rodgers hinted at the record being released late in 2013, with setbacks - including the roof of their old studio collapsing -  pushing the release date back. They've also being progressing at a leisurely pace, with drummer Jeremy Gara stating that the band has just been "working on music and growing beards".

We all wait with bated breath as to what this collab has in stall for us...
