Live Review: WATCH: Tame Impala 'Elephant' (Official Video)

20 September 2012 | 12:00 pm | Hannah Story

Tame Impala's 'Elephant' is like stepping into some kind of live music psychedelic wonderland. WATCH IT NOW.

So we've already had a chat about TAME IMPALA's first single 'Elephant' from sophomore LP, Lonerism. And we're desperate to share our thoughts about the whole album.

Yes, in case you didn't know, it's sitting on The Pirate Bay just waiting for you to check it out. But it's pretty low quality stuff and of course we don't encourage illegal downloading. So we're biting our tongues for now and plan on reviewing it after its official release- so we can hear all the sonic goodness in surround sound. Or from a record player. Because we're snobs who love vinyl.

Now Kevin Parker is out to expose himself this time around. He describes 'Elephant'-

"It's not really a song about being a loner, it's a song about the bully. The guy who thinks he's great. The jock. You can imagine a real reclusive kind of guy who's a bit bitter about this guy who thinks he's great. Which is the opposite vibe of the loner, so it presents him in the worst light."

But now it's time to introduce to you the video. Light up your cigarette, take some mind-altering drugs and let's go. It's full of rad psychedelic effects layered on top of their live footage. It's one colourful piece, directed by artist Yoshi Sodeoka.  NME has the exclusive and I don't want to spoil the experience by yammering on about it, so take a gander yourself HERE

You may want to check out this video too. It's unofficial, but it's possibly my favourite thing ever. Mmhmm, that's right. Someone synced the song with Dumbo and it works perfectly. I don't remember that movie being this much of a trip, but hey, I guess there were a lot of drug references in a tonne of Disney movies I couldn't have picked up on at the time.

Check the lads out at Parklife.

Or if you don't have tickets, just listen to 'Apocalypse Dreams.'

Lonerism is out October 5.
